Peter Scott

In addition to founding the Kakushin Institute in 2009, Pete has had a 33 year career in the corporate training and communications industries, mostly with large agencies based in New York City.

Pete works directly with senior leaders at global companies to build and solidify their brands, leadership teams, sales forces and businesses.

Pete has vast experience in the healthcare industry, serving clients like GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merck and many others.  He’s also had long term contracts with Volvo, JP Morgan, American Express, Sunoco Oil, to name a few.  Recent clients include Roche, Accelerate Diagnostics, Johnson & Johnson, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Ventana Medical Systems, and The Foundation for Americaʼs Blood Centers.

Tim Orr
Co-Founder and Senior Facilitator

With more than 24 years of experience in the healthcare field, Tim has demonstrated expertise in general management, corporate training, strategic and business planning and global sales and marketing.

Tim is passionate about expanding individual and organizational capacity and believes that leaders have the potential every day to create opportunities for people to contribute and make a difference. As Tim often says, “When they do, the results that are produced exceed anything they would have believed were possible. You know you are leading when people around you are inspired by their own brilliance.”

A Six Sigma Green Belt and ecperienced Breakthrough Facilitator, Tim has spent one third of his career living and working in overseas locations including; London England, Tokyo Japan and Singapore. He joined Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (OCD) in 1994 with Johnson & Johnson’s acquisition of Kodak’s clinical diagnostics business. He has held several key positions including: Director U.S. Marketing, Worldwide Marketing Manager, Worldwide Strategic and Business Planning Manager, Director Sales and Marketing Asia Pacific Region, Managing Director Asia region, Vice President US Sales and Marketing and Vice President Worldwide marketing.

Having launched several engagement programs at large medical institutions, Tim is our most experienced practitioner and Kakushin facilitator. He most recently ran a fascinating start-up program for The Stanley Brothers of Colorado, founders of CBD market leader and industry innovator, Charlotte’s Web, who have since gone public with a $1 Billion dollar valuation.

Tim received his bachelor’s degree from Lake Forest College, Illinois and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from The Graduate Institute, Connecticut. He is also a member of the Biomedical Marketing Association, as well as the American Association of Clinical Chemistry and Professional Pricing Society. Tim, and his wife have three grown children, and have reside in the Princeton, Nj area for more than 20 years.

Sam Monaco
Senior Facilitator and Academic Advisor

Sam spent his first 20 years with Eastman Kodak and the last 16 years of his career in Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho Clinical Diagnostics Business before retiring from his position as Group Director of U.S. Sales Operations in 2011.

He’s had various assignments around the world and has gained a variety of functional experience including Information Technology, Supply Chain, Sales Operations and New Product Development.

Sam is also a certified, practicing Six Sigma Black Belt, and since retiring from J&J, he has been working as an Academic Advisor and Facilitator for the Kakushin Institute. 

Sam’s recent clients include Abbott, St. Jude Medical, Roche.

John Farrell
Facilitator and Academic Advisor

John Farrell is a senior consulting executive with significant leadership experience in consulting service delivery to global and regional corporations.  As a partner for Ernst & Young (now EY) he led consulting practices in New York and Milan, Italy, and worked with companies like Xerox, Whirlpool, Fidelity Funds, EMI Music Publishing, the Associated Press and Merrill Lynch on reengineering and business transformation programs.  At Unisys Corporation, he was the Managing Partner for Commercial Industries Consulting and Systems Integration Practice in Europe. 

Recently, John served as the Graduate Dean for the College of Business and as the Director for the Center for the Development of Leadership Skills at Rider University.  John has been a an adjunct faculty member of Rider’s faculty teaching International Management, Managerial Thinking and Decision Making and Financial Planning.  He has an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from University of Notre Dame.
